We will show you the route to Goshiki-ga-hara.

We will work in Goshiki-ga-hara during summer holidays. We will show you the route to Goshiki-ga-hara.

Starting from Murodo (2,500 meters above sea level), we will slowly climb up the well maintained trail to Ichinokoshi.

It’s a long term part-time job, so my luggage got pretty heavy.

Many climbers visit Ichinokoshi pass to climb Tateyama (Mt. Oyama), but you can enjoy a quiet climb towards Mt. Jodo-san. Tateyama (Mt. Oyama) in the background.

It’s just a hard treck to Mt. Jodo-san

This is the old research facility of the University of Toyama in Mt. Jodo-san.

From Mt. Jodo-san, We could see Goshiki-ga-hara for the first time. There it is! There is still a lot of snow.

From Mt. Jodo-san. we descend the rocky terrain to Goshiki-ga-hara.

It’s pretty steep in some places, but as long as you secure the three points and go down carefully, there’s no problem.

The course is rich in variety, with snow gorges and rocky terrain.

When we look back in the east face of Mt. Onidake, it can be seen that we have traverseed a pretty steep Mt. Ryuo-dake

We are going down the Onidake snow valley. I didn’t even need crampons if I went down slowly and carefully.

It is very easy to walk because the employee of the mountain villa makes the path.

When we looked back, we could see that it was a pretty big snow valley.

We crossed another snow stream and climbed up Mt. Shishi-dake, And Goshiki-ga-hara is over there.

We walk along the wooden path in the flower garden to Mt. Shishi-dake.
Looking at the pretty alpine plants makes me forget my fatigue!

We ate our lunch at the top of Mt. Shishi-dake! When we look back, we know I’ve crossed the steep mountains.

Lake Kurobe can be seen so far away from the top of Mt. Shishi-dake. We’ve been up there quite a bit.

From Mt. Shishi-dake, the Goshiki-ga-hara is right in front of us. But there’s the Zara Pass between them.

Now, to the Zara Pass, slowly, slowly!

There is also a ladder like this one, but it is solid and safe!

When we reached the Zara Pass, the gas came on.

Take a break here. It’s just one more climb to Goshiki-ga-hara!

After climbing up to the plateau of Goshiki-ga-hara, a wooden road came out and the Goshiki-ga-hara Sanso lodge, our destination, came into view!

We arrived and took a break before getting ready for dinner. I’ll be working on it for the next month or so!
